Northants Baseball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of its new committee following the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM). The club looks forward to building on recent growth and continuing to strengthen both on and off the field.
Newly Appointed Committee
The following members have been appointed to key leadership roles:
President: Louis Bojko
Vice President: Jack Betts
Treasurer: Errol Dane
Secretary: Ian Hitchcock
Youth Representative: Suzanne Orlando
Fundraising Co-ordinator: Chris Curtis
Club Development Co-ordinator - Yulyn Helm
Thank You to Outgoing Committee Members
The club would also like to extend a sincere thank you to James Thorne and Daz Burcombe for their dedication and hard work over the past two years. Their time on the committee coincided with a period of significant change and growth for Northants, and their contributions have helped shape the club’s positive direction. Both will now be stepping away from committee and coaching positions, and we wish them all the best.
Get Involved
If anyone is interested in supporting the club in any of the open roles, or in an unofficial volunteer capacity, we encourage you to reach out to a member of the committee. Community involvement remains vital to the club’s continued success.
2026 Club Objectives
The new committee has set out several key objectives for the 2026 season and beyond:
Under 12s Team Recruitment and Establishment
Develop and implement a recruitment plan to attract 14 new youth players, alongside the necessary support infrastructure to sustain increased under-12 participation throughout 2026. This will build on the club’s existing junior base and work towards establishing a competitive Under 12s team.
Backstop Installation
Raise funds and install a permanent or semi-permanent backstop (including foul line fencing) by the end of 2027, ensuring the project is delivered within budget and without placing the club into a negative financial position.
Two Competitive Teams
Register and field two competitive teams in 2026 — one in Tier 5 and one in Tier 4. The club aims to ensure both teams play at least 80% of scheduled league games, with at least one team achieving a playoff position.
Secure a Long-Term Lease
Whether through securing a new home ground or formalising a long-term lease at the current venue, this objective is central to the club’s long-term stability. This will also support infrastructure projects such as the backstop installation. The Club Development Coordinator role will primarily focus on delivering this outcome.
Coaching, Umpiring and Scoring Development
Encourage greater participation in BBF-accredited courses to improve coaching standards, umpiring capability, and scoring expertise across the club.
