A trip east on the A14 saw us take Cambridge Baseball Club on in a post season friendly. With a couple of late drop outs, Cambridge helped us out with players, and a big thanks to Dan, Paul and Ryo who all played for us.
Nick Russell took the mound against Cambridge’s Josh Clegg. Northants were out of the box quickly, with two big innings having the Centurions 8-0 up after two. With Nick in his best form of the season, and Cameron Doncaster bringing the heat for Cambridge as the game went on, things tightened up. Alex Wilson got the final three outs, giving Northants a 9-2 victory.
Good contributions from all, but Ben Russell’s career best 2-3 was particularly notable.
